Love Island's Uma Jammeh has responded to her friend Mimii Ngulube's ongoing situation with Ayo Odukoya in the villa, underlying her "support" for her fellow Islander.

Following the dramatic events of Casa Amor (which saw Ayo choosing to couple-up with new girl Jessica, leaving Mimii to come back to the main villa single) we've watched new bombshell Josh arrive with eyes for Mimii.

But many in the villa – and watching at home – think there's still something between Mimii and Ayo. And when she chose Ayo for a snog during Love Island's Snog, Marry, Pie challenge, this narrative has only continued to grow.

Afterwards, Mimii told her current partner Josh that "the feelings are still there" with Ayo, but she's also maintained they're each focusing on their new partners.

During an exclusive interview with Digital Spy, which happened before Monday night's episode (July 15) aired, Uma shared how tough her friend's situation is.

"I think with Mimii's situation it's difficult, and it's so easy to see it from an outside perspective when you don't have feelings involved," Uma said. "But if there is feelings involved for someone – she obviously really really liked Ayo quite a lot. So it's difficult for her just to completely shut that down straight away."

Uma underlined that she supports "anything [Mimii] wants to do, because she's my absolute girl".

"I think Josh is amazing and he's all for her," Uma added. "But I've heard that it seems like he's moving a bit quick... I think it's a difficult situation. I just want her to be happy, so whoever makes her the most happy..."

Meanwhile Uma has opened up about how things are going with Wil since leaving the show, revealing that they have enjoyed their first date night together and have also now made their relationship official.
