Love Island's Uma has spoken out about the "confusion" that followed her decision to quit the show.

In an exclusive chat with Digital Spy, the former 2024 Islander opened up about the moment which saw her choosing to leave with Wil in order to continue their romance on the outside.

This fire pit moment came after a challenging couple of days for the couple, following the events of Casa Amor.

Uma described the fan response since leaving the show as being "unreal", going on to say: "I'm so chuffed with the kind words that everyone has to say about me."

But she went on to explain: "I know there's been a bit of confusion around the whole situation as to why I would leave with Wil, but I hope watching all the stuff that we've done after [leaving the show], people understand a little bit more of why that was the case."

Wil then interjected to say that "there was only confusion" from viewers "based on the way it was shown" on screen. Uma agreed, stating that nobody that was in the villa with them had been shocked by her decision.

"Everyone thought we were going to win in there," Wil added.
