The Split Up, the Manchester-set spin-off to The Split, has added another big name to its roster of "standout guest stars". With anticipation building for the new series, which famous face has joined the line-up?
It was confirmed last month that Lenny Henry and Jane Horrocks would have guest roles in the upcoming legal drama, and they will be joined by The Good Place star Jameela Jamil, who will appear in an undisclosed part.
"New cast, new city, and fresh heartbreaks on the horizon. Jameela Jamil guest stars in The Split Up alongside series lead Ritu Arya – now filming and coming to #iPlayer," read a post on Instagram from the BBC press office.
Created by Ursula Rani Sarma, The Split Up is set in the "charged world of Manchester’s high-net-worth divorce circuit", with the action following the "powerhouse" Kishan family as their "success, secrets and loyalties are about to be tested".
"Kishan Law is a British-Asian high net worth family law firm in Manchester, noted for its clientele and its reputation," reads the logline. "They are the ‘go to firm’ for Manchester’s elite who come to them for their excellence, integrity and discretion."

"But the future and legacy of Kishan Law hangs in the balance when a family secret from the past comes to light, throwing their professional and personal lives into turmoil," it continues.
In addition to the aforementioned trio of guest stars and Arya, the cast for the series includes Sanjeev Bhaskar, Aysha Kala, Arian Nik, Danny Ashok, Dimitri Leonidas, Mawaan Rizwan, Sindhu Vee, Shalini Peiris and Tom Forbes.
Ursula Rani Sarma is serving as an executive producer alongside The Split creator Abi Morgan, with Kaamil Shah being a part of the writing team. The latter recently teased what viewers can expect from the series, which they described as "really sexy".

"It's with a new family of British Asian divorce lawyers in Manchester," they said. "[It's] very exciting to be working on that with an excellent showrunner, Ursula Rani Sarma. It's doing something very different with British Asians on screen.
"I think it's really sexy. I'm really proud to be working on a show that's genuinely got heart-stopping moments of British Asians being messy, having relationship dramas, affairs and all of these fun things."
The Split Up has no release date.
