The Split Up, the Manchester-set spin-off to BBC's The Split, has gotten an exciting update as first-look photos have been released following the early stages of filming - take a peek below!
The upcoming legal drama, which was announced back in February 2024, will follow the Kishans, a family of legal experts who serve the elite class in the northern city of Manchester.
After production was paused in September 2024 due to "editorial reasons", it was confirmed in April that work had resumed on the six-part series, and now we have our first-look images.
The pair of photos showcase Humans and The Umbrella Academy star Ritu Arya in her new role, with the actor wearing a plush red coat as she is joined by a colleague from the law firm.
"Kishan Law is a British-Asian high net worth family law firm in Manchester, noted for its clientele and its reputation," reads the logline for the series. "They are the ‘go to firm’ for Manchester’s elite who come to them for their excellence, integrity, and discretion."

"But the future and legacy of Kishan Law hangs in the balance when a family secret from the past comes to light, throwing their professional and personal lives into turmoil," it teases.
The Split Up has been created by Ursula Rani Sarma, with The Split creator Abi Morgan serving as an executive producer. The writing team includes Kaamil Shah, who recently teased what we can expect from the spin-off.
"It's with a new family of British Asian divorce lawyers in Manchester," said Shah. "[It's] very exciting to be working on that with an excellent showrunner, Ursula Rani Sarma. It's doing something very different with British Asians on screen.

"I think it's really sexy. I'm really proud to be working on a show that's genuinely got heart-stopping moments of British Asians being messy, having relationship dramas, affairs and all of these fun things."
The main series, which starred Nicola Walker and Stephen Mangan in the lead roles, ran for three seasons between 2018 and 2022, with a two-part Barcelona-set special being released last year.
The Split Up does not yet have a release date.
