Netflix has announced some new casting news for the Extraction TV show spin-off.

Following the success of the two movies with Chris Hemsworth, the franchise is expanding into an episodic format with a series of the same name.

Lupin actor Omar Sy has already been announced for the show, and now two further stars have been confirmed to be joining him.

First up there's Natalie Dormer, most famous for playing Margaery Tyrell in Game of Thrones, but also known for The Hunger Games and Penny Dreadful: City of Angels.

Then there's Boyd Holbrook, star of Logan, Narcos and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.

The Extraction TV show will focus a mercenary played by Sy who is on a mission to save a group of hostages in Libya.

It won't be an easy job, however, as he finds himself stuck in the middle of warring factions and ruthless killers.

Dormer will reportedly play private military contractor called Clayton Wisper, and although Holbrook's role hasn't been revealed yet, the Netflix announcement teases that the pair's characters could be allies, adversaries, or somewhere in-between.

Angela Russo-Otstot from Joe and Anthony Russo's production company AGBO said: "AGBO is grateful to collaborate once again with our partners at Netflix, this time to expand the Extraction universe into a new medium.

"We were inspired to tell more stories in this global franchise, further exploring heroic yet flawed mercenaries who illuminate universal themes.

"[Showrunner and writer] Glen Mazzara truly excels at sophisticated and nuanced explorations in the genre series space, and we are thrilled to have the exceptional talents of Omar Sy at the center of our action-packed, multi-narrative mission."

Meanwhile, the third film was announced back in 2023, but it still seems like it's quite a way off.

The Extraction series does not have a release date currently, but the two films are available to stream on Netflix.
