Michelle Keegan has returned to set for a mystery project in her first role since Brassic was confirmed to be ending.

Taking to Instagram over the weekend, Keegan shared a series of photos from an unknown location. After heading to the makeup chair with an iced coffee in tow, the Ten Pound Poms star was pictured smiling as she prepared for a shoot.

Keegan's latest project comes just six months after it was announced that Brassic – the hit comedy-drama created by Joe Gilgun and Danny Brocklehurst – would end with season seven.

Keegan, who signed onto the series in 2018, has received acclaim for her portrayal of the fiery and fiercely independent Erin Croft, a young mum who shares a complex relationship with troubled protagonist Vinnie (Joe Gilgun).

Confirming that she had completed filming for Brassic's seventh season in May, Keegan penned an emotional post on Instagram.

Ahead of the season seven premiere, co-creator Danny Brocklehurst reflected on the show’s evolution and conclusion. "When Joe Gilgun and I sat down to create Brassic, we couldn't have imagined, in our wildest dreams, that we would do seven series and gather such a loyal and loving fan base,” he said in January.

"It's been a complete joy to create this eccentric world, but all good things must come to an end, and we want to stop while we are still riding high. Maybe they can finally give us that BAFTA!"

Ryan Sampson, Aaron Heffernan, Joanna Higson, Parth Thakerar and Steve Evets are confirmed to return alongside Keegan and Gilgun.

Brassic season seven is yet to receive a release date. Series 1-6 are available to watch on Sky Max and NOW in the UK.
