We Were Liars, the Prime Video thriller with a "messed up" ending, has shot up the trending chart just days after its release.
Based on E Lockhart's novel of the same name, the show follows 17-year-old Cady Sincalir who, after suffering a terrible accident, is left with amnesia.
When Cady returns to Beechwood, the island where her privileged family holidays each year, nobody will speak about the accident, forcing Cady to uncover the truth herself.
We Were Liars stars Revenge actor Emily Alyn Lind as Cady alongside Esther McGregor, Mamie Gummer, Caitlin FitzGerald, Joseph Zada, and Shubham Maheshwari.
The eight-episode series is currently trending in Prime Video's most-watched series chart, sitting at the number two spot on the streaming service's top ten series in the UK chart.

We Were Liars currently has a respectable score of 75% on Rotten Tomatoes from 16 reviews, with many critics praising the "compelling" show.
Variety wrote: "A twisted and compelling series about family, entitlement and consequences. Though the final two episodes aren’t as powerful as they could have been, the show is still worth the ride."
The Wrap had this to say: "Overall, We Were Liars is a solid entry into the hazy summer melodrama canon, sitting comfortably beside other twisty, sun-soaked series like Big Little Lies and Cruel Summer."

Not everyone was as impressed, with The Hollywood Reporter penning: "In such a vast sea of stories about miserable rich white people, it’s hard to feel moved by the glacially paced awakening of one pampered princess coming to realize, at the big age of 16, that there might be more to life than partying."
Speaking to Marie Claire about the show, Zada, who plays Cady's cousin Johnny, opened up about its "messed up" ending.
Zada said the ending is "equally as heartbreaking" as it is in Lockhart’s novel, adding: "I’d say. It doesn’t get any nicer in the TV show, it’s pretty messed up."
We Were Liars is streaming on Prime Video now.
