Prime Video has released the first trailer for its adaptation of E. Lockhart's 2014 thriller We Were Liars.

All eight episodes of the new show will debut on the streaming service on Wednesday 18 June.

Fans of the novel have been eagerly awaiting the series release ever since it was given the green light by Amazon MGM Studios in March 2023.

On Prime Video's Instagram account the trailer was met with excitement, with many fans proclaiming they "can't wait" to watch the show.

As the trailer shows, We Were Liars focuses on the wealthy Sinclair family, who enjoy perfect summers on Beechwood Island until something terrible happens to eldest daughter Cadence that she has no memory of.
