Sally Lindsay's thriller Love Rat has become a big hit on Netflix after recently being added to the streamer.

The series originally broadcast on Channel 5 in 2024 and focuses on Lindsay's recent divorcee character Emma, who holidays in Cyprus and falls for Niko (Gerald Kyd), a charismatic hotel owner.

However, things take a dark turn when Niko says he needs a short-term loan to complete the villa purchase, Emma lending him the money. However, "her money and her dreams of a new life disappear".

"Desperate, she sets out to find him and get her money back, descending into a shadowy underworld of conmen where nothing is as it seems, and uncovering an even more twisted truth as she battles for justice," the synopsis adds.

Love Rat has proved a big success on streaming service Netflix, currently sitting at number 8 in the UK's Top 10 programmes.

This murder mystery series is a cosier affair, and sees Lindsay play an antiques dealer who helps to solve mysteries in a fictional southern French village called Sainte Victoire, with each episode taking a mystery of the week format. The series has been running since 2021, with the fourth season broadcast on Channel 5 earlier this year. It counts Lindsay as a co-creator as well as playing the central character of Jean White, while other stars include Peep Show's Steve Edge, EastEnders' Sue Holderness, Coronation Street's Robin Askwith and Blackadder's Tony Robinson.

This online dating thriller is based on a book by Stephanie Wood, and follows writer Birdie Bell (Asher Keddie) as she matches with rancher Joe (David Wenham) – though things take a darker turn as it becomes clear he isn't all that he seems. Fake comes from creator Anya Beyersdorf and originally debuted on Paramount+ last year, before all eight episodes were added to ITVX last month. Digital Spy called the series "subtly gripping" in our four-star verdict, adding: "Expect to be effortlessly locked in, for what promises to be a thrilling ride."

For Her Sins originally aired in 2023 on Channel 5, though was recently added to Prime Video. The thriller series features Jo Joyner as a lawyer, mother and wife called Laura Conroy who, despite appearing to have it all, has a dark secret. When she crosses paths with a kind stranger called Emily Furness (Rachel Shenton), however, tensions come to the fore. For Her Sins comes from creator Jo Rogers and also features Andor's Duncan Pow, Snow White's Ansu Kabia and Top Boy's Isla Jackson-Ritchie in supporting roles.

Featuring Paul Mescal in his first major role after his breakout in Normal People, 2020's The Deceived focuses on a university student called Ophelia who embarks on an affair with a lecturer – though when he disappears, she tracks him down and learns that his wife died in a fire. Ophelia then finds she is unable to trust her own mind. The thriller was created by Tobias Beer and Derry Girls' Lisa McGee, and also stars Peaky Blinders' Emmett J Scanlan, Belgravia's Emilie Reid and Napoleon's Catherine Walker.
