Channel 5 has released a first look at Jason Watkins and Robson Green in chilling new detective drama Catch You Later.

Directed by Death in Paradise boss Toby Frow, the "cat-and-mouse thriller" stars Watkins as retired police detective Huw Miller, who is still haunted by the one case he failed the solve: a stalker in his town who toyed with his victims before murdering them.

However, when Huw's new neighbour Patrick Harbottle (Green) moves in and utters the words 'catch you later' — the sign-off the stalker used to taunt Huw during the investigation — Huw is certain Patrick is his man.

The synopsis revealed: "What follows is a high stakes game of psychological chess between the two neighbours as Huw’s world begins to crumble around him."

A new photo from the upcoming series has now been released, featuring Watkins and Green in action as Huw and Patrick as they walk alongside on another.

Casualty actor Sunetra Sarker also stars in the four-part series as Huw's wife.

Discussing Catch You Later during a new interview with Deadline, Green explained that the way his character says 'catch you later' "triggers" something in his character to dig deeper.

"Patrick is over-friendly, and Huw feels everything is not quite what it seems," he continued.

"Very quickly you realise there is a game being played, but is Patrick a stalker and is Huw on the right track or spiralling out of control psychological.

"The amazing thing that plays out in this series is the capitulation of Huw, played beautifully by Jason, and whether Patrick is just a friendly guy concerned about his welfare, or if he is psychologically torturing him. The audience will wonder what his motives are."

Catch You Later will air on Channel 5.
