The cast of ITV's forthcoming daytime soap Night and Day have been officially revealed.
Glynis Barber (Three Up, Two Down will play the role of a schoolteacher, as will Lesley Joseph (Birds of a Feather).
Lysette Anthony (Dempsey and Makepeace) will feature as Roxanna, the hairdresser. Her husband Alex will be played by Joe McGann (The Upper Hand).
Gareth Hunt (The New Avengers) will star as Charlie, the pub landlord. Newcomer Joe Jacobs will play his son, Jimmy.
A spokeswoman for the show said: "It's not just another soap. There will be fantasy sequences and the producer has talked about breaking all the rules. Night and Day will be upbeat and very cool.
"The show will appeal to a cross-section of people of all ages. It's going to be aspirational but edgy with a dark undercurrent."
Filming begins in Greenwich next week.
