While there (probably) won't be any more new Neighbours episodes following its cancellation last year, UK fans will be treated to the next best thing as hundreds of classic episodes will soon be available to stream for free.

The Australian soap is the latest in a number of iconic shows acquired by U (aka UKTV), through a deal with production company Fremantle. The streaming service secured exclusive rights to the early back catalogue of Neighbours, with episodes from the first two years arriving this month.

So when and where can fans take a trip down memory lane?

Well, having bought the rights to the soap, the first 115 episodes will land on U together, with five more episodes added weekly until all 420 episodes are available to stream. Episodes will also air on U&Drama.

However, the soap will also stream on Channel 4 from Monday 20 July, as part of a deal made last year which allows the streaming service to carry U content.

The classic episodes will start from the very beginning in 1985, and will feature beloved characters such as Scott Robinson and Charlene Mitchell (Jason Donovan and Kylie Minogue), and the early days of the Ramsay and Robinson families.

Emma Tibbetts, UKTV's director of scripted programming, previously said: "Neighbours is one of television's most iconic and enduring dramas, and we're thrilled to bring the back-catalogue to U.

"This acquisition further expands the breadth of scripted entertainment available on our free streaming service, strengthening our growing slate of global IP. We can’t wait for both long‑time fans and new audiences to rediscover the series in its entirety."

Fremantle's Louise Toner added: "Neighbours is a truly iconic series, loved across generations. We're thrilled to partner with UKTV to bring its classic episodes and unforgettable characters back to audiences old and new."

Meanwhile, if you're looking for some nostalgia before Neighbours arrives, Channel 4's partnership with BBC-owned U means classic episodes of Casualty and EastEnders are streaming right now.

Seasons 23-26 (which ran from late-2008 to mid-2012) of Casualty are currently available, with more arriving tomorrow. Plus, EastEnders fans can revisit 2010, with 149 episodes of 'season 27', before more drama lands on Friday (10 July).

Neighbours concluded in December 2025, but classic episodes are available to watch via Prime Video, YouTube, U and Channel 4.
