Hollyoaks spoilers follow for Wednesday’s episode (22 July), which is available to watch now on streaming service Channel 4 and hasn’t yet aired on TV.
Hollyoaks has aired the shocking death of a major character, as Jez and John Paul’s wedding day descends into chaos.
Fugitive Bobby found out that Jez was a killer this week, but Jez threatened him into helping plant evidence that would frame Dilly for his recent murders.
John Paul then called off his wedding to Jez at the altar, having reached his limit with his fiancé’s lies.
When Jez tried to go after John Paul, Mercedes berated him in front of the wedding guests – and he later secretly pledged to make her pay for ruining his happily ever after.

While Mercedes returned home in tears in today’s episode, Robbie could only watch on in horror from the shed as Jez grabbed a rope to carry out his latest murder.
Tony barged into Mercedes’ house desperately looking for Bobby, but she swore that she didn’t know where her son was.
He apologised for losing his temper but was frustrated when she explained that she had stopped Bobby from handing himself in to the police when he first escaped prison.
Mercedes needed company after a tough day, so Tony stayed with her, but he fell asleep. Hearing someone sneeze, Mercedes checked under the bed and was horrified to discover Bobby hiding there.

With Bobby still under the bed, Tony and Mercedes were disturbed by an inconsolable John Paul, who had relapsed and injured his hand in his drunken state.
Meanwhile, kidnapped Robbie spoke up and tried to stop Jez from going through with his plan, so Jez asked him for an alternative option.
Robbie reasoned that killing Mercedes wouldn’t help him to get John Paul back, as he would be beside himself with grief, but Jez was sure he couldn’t let her get away with this.
Bobby told his mum that he was finally going to turn himself in and serve his time in prison. The pair said an emotional goodbye, and Bobby failed to tell Mercedes what he knew about Jez.

Mercedes phoned Myra and explained Bobby’s intentions, but John Paul was also trying to call Jez, and he overheard the conversation.
Tony spotted Bobby outside and got in his car to track down the teen. Bobby got to the police station, but Jez stopped him from going inside, so he ran away and commandeered a taxi – that drunk John Paul was in the back of.
When the taxi broke down, Jez tracked down Bobby again. The teen tried to get away but fell in the road and Jez delivered a fatal blow with a rock.
Shortly after, Tony sped down the road and swerved to avoid the broken-down taxi, and appeared to hit Bobby, who was already dead.
Will Jez manage to get away with yet another murder, and has Tony accidentally put himself in the crossfire?
