Hollyoaks spoilers follow for Wednesday’s episode (4 June), which is available to watch now on streaming service Channel 4 and hasn’t yet aired on TV.
Hollyoaks has aired a surprise exit for a major character, as Warren Fox returns to the village and takes revenge.
This week, Mercedes got a shock when she found a letter from Warren – the letter that Freddie made sure never got to her during the missing year.
She wanted to confront her partner about this discovery but decided against it as Freddie was upset about Robbie’s condition. Instead, Mercedes met up with Warren himself on the city walls.
Warren found out in today's episode that Freddie intercepted the note that he gave to Arlo, though Mercedes explained that she wouldn’t have left the village with him anyway.

What to Read Next
After Mercedes told her ex about her cancer ordeal over the last year, Warren promised to never leave her side again and suggested they should leave for Ecuador together today.
Warren even kissed Mercedes to convince her, a kiss which was observed by Freddie, but she ultimately told him that she wanted to spend the rest of life with her current partner.
Later, Warren bumped into Clare, with whom he has a chequered past. It was a very surprising reunion, not least because both thought that the other was dead!

He then prepared to leave the village alone, but before he could get away, Warren was arrested – after a jealous Freddie called the police on him.
But Freddie got a shock of his own when Warren cornered him in the garage with a gun, having evaded prison because of his "friends in high places".
Threatening his daughter Lexi if he didn’t comply, Warren demanded that Freddie writes a suicide note, remarking that everyone in his life would be better off without him.

Freddie did as he was told and penned a goodbye letter to Mercedes, and she was devastated to read about her partner’s supposed death.
As Freddie left the village safe and sound, it was revealed that it was Donny who turned a blind eye to the police report about Warren – as a belated thank you for freeing Misbah from Blue’s clutches.
This might be the last we see of Freddie, as actor Charlie Clapham's exit was reported back in April. But with Warren heading back on the run, will he ever return to the village? He cryptically said, "Now there’s a question…"
