Hollyoaks star Charlie Clapham is set to make his exit from the soap very soon.

The actor returned to the show last year as Freddie Roscoe.

Freddie has been involved in affair storylines with Vicky Grant and Mercedes McQueen while married to Grace Black, who has been delving ever deeper into the world of crime.

After learning that Grace framed Mercedes for murder and got her imprisoned while dealing with cancer, Freddie set his sights on taking Grace down.

The Sun reports that the storyline will climax with an "explosive" exit for Freddie in the summer, tying in with the soap's 30th anniversary.

It also reports that this departure was planned before Freddie even returned to our screens last year.

Hollyoaks has already set the wheels in motion for Grace's downfall, as her brother Rex Gallagher secretly texted police officer Donny Clarke, warning him that his boss DI Banks is actually Grace's boss in their trafficking group.
