Hollyoaks has revealed that a shock arrest will be made in the aftermath of Abe Fielding’s dramatic plot – with the wrong person put behind bars.
This week, Mercedes, Leela, Cleo and Peri put their plan into action to murder Abe, after they realised that he will never be able to truly pay for his crimes against the women of the village.
In Monday’s episode (February 3), Mercedes acquired a gun from Freddie, while Leela lured Abe to the flat where Cleo and Peri were waiting for him.

Mercedes showed up and shot Abe, but the bullet only grazed his face. After he tried to shoot his brother Joel, Abe ran away from the police and showed up at The Hutch to confront his mum Marie.

When she refused to help him escape, Abe turned violent and held Marie at knifepoint in the busy restaurant. Chaos descended in The Hutch and the situation ended with Tony getting brutally stabbed.
Abe made his getaway in Tony’s car, and he dragged Marie along for the ride. Joel spotted Abe leaving the village and followed him in his own vehicle.

The brothers then drove towards each other, with both refusing to back down. The cars collided in a horrific crash as the screen cut to black.
It hasn’t yet been revealed what happens next, but in upcoming episodes, the dramatic climax to Abe’s story will continue to unfold and events will spiral out of control.
By the end of the week, one village resident will be wrongfully imprisoned, but the crime they have supposedly committed remains under wraps for now.

In scenes that will air next week, this decision has major consequences, with protestors storming the police station to express their unhappiness at the arrest.
Later in the week, Misbah chats to Donny, her fiancé and newly reinstated detective in Hollyoaks, about Abe’s case. As they talk, they begin to wonder whether the wrong person is behind bars.

Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
