Hollyoaks' Mercedes McQueen to make shock confession as Bobby's fate is revealed

Mercedes McQueen will make a shock confession on Hollyoaks next week, as Bobby’s fate is revealed.

The young boy, who possesses an evil streak like his grandfather Silas, has been committing crimes aplenty recently, killing off Verity Hutchinson before attempting to murder Felix by setting fire to the store.

After Mercedes finally became aware of the menacing streak her son possessed, she resigned herself to taking the blame for his crimes, but Bobby confessed to the police in a rare display of honesty.

With Bobby brought in and awaiting sentencing, Mercedes has kept a low profile, leading several of the village residents to wonder where she is.

In scenes that air next week, John Paul finds out that Mercedes had been held on remand, but is shocked to hear that she was released weeks ago.

Enlisting the help of Felix and James, he hires a private investigator to track Mercedes down, but he himself deduces where she’s hiding by recalling that she favours a particular chip shop; a much relieved Felix later finds her there, and implores her to come home.

Understandably feeling the stress of her son’s impending trial, Felix suggests she take up boxing as a way to release her pent-up aggression, urging her to stop justifying Bobby’s actions and absolve herself of blame.

As she turns up in court to hear the verdict of the trial, she decides to confess to Tony and Diane; but just exactly how much will she tell them?

Following the conclusion of this storyline, Mercedes will find herself with a new enemy in the village, with showrunner Lucy Allan revealing that trouble is coming later this year.

"We kept her away from love for a long time, but she is currently finding and struggling with love," she told Digital Spy. "She is looking at new beginnings, new relationships, but also she is going to find a new nemesis within the village to up against as well. Expect to see McQueens at war."

Hollyoaks streams first on All 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.
