Hollyoaks producer Lucy Allan has confirmed that a face from Warren Fox's past will be returning as part of a romance plotline.
While she didn't specify exactly who the person in question is during an exclusive chat with Digital Spy, Allan described the comeback as "really interesting".
"Hollyoaks is a show that is always about looking forward – that is what we do," she said. "However, Warren has got a really interesting new love interest coming in, who has appeared in the show before."

During the discussion, Allan also teased the arrival of a number of new characters to the village, including a recast for Lucas and a new addition to the Maalik family.

"You will have seen obviously that we have recast Lucas. William Hall, who played him before, was a phenomenal, brilliant actor but we recast him simply because he's more grown-up and the story that we're putting him into, we needed a more grown-up actor," she explained.
"William obviously has done an amazing job for us across the years he's been in the show. We are really excited about the big love story his character is coming into in many ways. I think he will be a good one to look out for."

"Likewise in the Maalik household, we have got a nephew arriving called Dylan, who will be another one of our teens. In terms of interest, we will be looking at that teen group and exploring sexuality, love and everything else through them, which will be really interesting in the coming year," the producer continued.
"You will also know about the arrival of Rayne and Lacey, and we are really excited about that story and where those characters are going. Rayne and Romeo will be big ones to watch this year in a huge story for them coming up as well in 2023, building to a massive story peak in September."
Allan also teased more big storylines to come following the soap's recent acclaimed 'Long Walk Home' episode.
Hollyoaks streams first on All 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.
Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
