Hollyoaks star Stephanie Davis has opened up about Laurie Shelby's return scenes as Sinead O'Connor comes face-to-face with him.
Laurie was recently arrested for attempting to rape Diane Hutchinson following the abuse of Stephanie's character Sinead.
While it seemed like Laurie had gotten his comeuppance, he is set to enter Sinead's life once again as she visits him in prison after he sends her a letter.
"This letter is typical of manipulative Laurie – he's trying to get a reaction out of Sinead," the actress told Inside Soap. "And it works, he says all kinds of nasty things, and Sinead wonders if they're true.
"Her mum advises her not to rise to it, but Laurie goes to the next level and brings up Hannah. That's when Sinead decides to confront him.
"By this point, she's had enough. She just thinks, 'he can say what he likes about me, but not about my daughter!' And when Sinead comes face to face with Laurie, you can actually see him at breaking point – he's losing control a little bit."

Having been left shaken by the meeting, Sinead decides to head to a festival with friends to help clear her mind.
"Sinead thinks the festival will take her mind off Laurie – she just wants to enjoy normal things," Stephanie explained.
"She ends up making a pass at Sami, which she thinks will be reciprocated, but it's not. He does like her, yet because of the vulnerable state Sinead's in, he doesn't want to take advantage."
Sinead takes this as a rejection, storming off and hitchhiking home. Meanwhile, Laurie will come face-to-face with Sinead's brother Finn in a prison van, and an ensuing fight causes the vehicle to crash – though whether this is the end of Laurie or if he manages to escape remains unclear.
While Stephanie remained tight-lipped on the outcome, she did tease: "I watched the trailer thinking, 'Go on, Finn!' I've seen these episodes and they're so good – it's the last part of this journey for Sinead.
"Filming this week's scenes was fun, but there was loads of running involved, and I'm really unfit! There was also a lot of running through cow poo, so it was very smelly!"
Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
