Hollyoaks newcomer Laurie Shelby (Kyle Pryor) showed a more sinister side to his unsettling behaviour in tonight's E4 first look as Sinead was left with bruises after a forceful encounter with her husband.
On Monday's (February 18) first look episode, Laurie and Sinead (Stephanie Davis) suffered a night of tension after Sinead accused Laurie of having an affair with Sienna Blake.
Viewers already know that Laurie has been harassing Sienna in the workplace, and he continued his dark behaviour tonight when he let Sienna get blamed for the kiss between them, even though Laurie was the one to make the move on her.
After the school event, however, Laurie and Sinead returned home, where Laurie made Sinead feel guilty for causing a scene – and as the pair were making up with a kiss, Sinead was later left with bruises after Laurie got forceful.
Sinead was uncomfortable enough to take a painkiller afterwards, and viewers were left to wonder whether Laurie had done it on purpose...
Which means that fans of the show are now definitely ready for Laurie's true colours to be exposed to the village, and they're rooting for Sinead and Sienna to get away from his toxic influence sooner rather than later:

Speaking to Digital Spy about the dark new scenes, actor Kyle Pryor says that Sinead is left torn over whether the behaviour was a one-off or not.
"It's a traumatic situation for Sinead. But to a certain degree, it's a grey area where Sinead doesn't know whether that was a one-off or not, or whether it will happen again," he said.
"It's a terrible act, but you don't really know at this point whether it's something that is going to continue. There is a lot of tension after it, but it's unclear as to what exactly happened in that situation – and whether it's something that Laurie has a history of doing."
Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
