Hollyoaks' Stephanie Davis has had her real love life referenced as the soap aired.

Last night's E4 episode (December 18) ended with Sinead O'Connor's husband Laurie Shelby (Kyle Pryor) storming off after discovering that Sinead used to be a prostitute, leaving her distraught.

As the credits rolled, the E4 announcer then popped up and said: "And there was me thinking it was Romeo she was interested in."

And Steph got the joke, as she shared a video of the comment on her Instagram Stories, writing: "Hahahaha."

He was, of course, referring to Steph's recently confirmed relationship with Owen Warner, who plays Romeo Quinn in the Channel 4 soap.

Stephanie returned to Hollyoaks as Sinead earlier in 2018, after being fired a number of years ago. In the time she was away from the show she had a very public on and off relationship with her Celebrity Big Brother co-star Jeremy McConnell, eventually giving birth to his child, Caben-Albi.
