In tonight's episode of Emmerdale, some upsetting news about Monty the dog's illness leads Cain to question his own treatment options.
Meanwhile, Lewis's loved ones worry when he decides that it's time to give Kev a chance. Can they build up a strong father-son relationship, or will this end in tears?

1. Monty's diagnosis is confirmed
Paddy pays a visit to the Dingles' cottage and breaks the sad news that – as suspected – Monty the dog has cancer.
Although Monty has treatment options available to keep him comfortable for a while longer, Cain and the rest of the family face a decision over the best outcome for their beloved pet.

2. Cain updates his family with big news
Cain is struck by how much his family want to keep Monty in their lives for longer. As the treatment options seem worth trying, and Paddy personally recommends this, the Dingles suggest showering Monty with love and enjoying further time with him.
As Cain realises that he isn't ready to lose Monty either, it dawns on him that he's reluctant to consider the treatment route in his own cancer journey, even though there are clear parallels.
Back at home, Cain tells his family that he's made a final decision about his own health…
3. Lewis returns
Lewis reappears after his short trip away to see his mum and dad. However, he's disappointed to realise that Kev – his biological father – is still hanging around the village.
Kev tries to impress Lewis by revealing that he's changed his surname by deed poll, so he's now a Barton. The revelation goes down like a lead balloon, as Lewis just wants Kev to go away!
4. Kev persists with Lewis
Kev refuses to give up on Lewis so easily, so he pays him another visit and opens up about his traumatic past.
Lewis is finally willing to listen, as Kev explains why he was so keen to lose the 'Townsend' surname. Sadly, Ross and Nicola are both outraged to see the pair bonding and refuse to let this happen...
5. There's a break-in at the café
In a moment that's sure to make the ongoing tensions even worse, a mystery figure breaks into the café and starts trashing the place.
Kev is likely to be blamed given his history of committing crimes…
6. Billy's past is revisited
Caleb briefs Kerry and Billy about his next counterfeit goods scheme, promising that there are no vulnerable victims this time as they're concentrating on fraudulently branding car parts with well-known names.
Kerry is quick to confirm her involvement, but Billy is reluctant as he doesn't want to go back to jail. As Billy points out how difficult it is to serve time behind bars, will he decide it's best to stay out of it?
7. There's a moment of chemistry between Billy and Gabby
Billy is forced to watch from the wings as Dawn and Joe excitedly plan their summer wedding.
However, when Billy and Gabby have a flirtatious exchange at The Hide, is Dawn's ex ready to start moving on?
