Emmerdale's Lisa Riley has broken her silence on reports that Bradley Johnson is leaving the soap. The pair have been playing adoptive mother and son - Mandy and Vinny Dingle, respectively - since 2019, when Riley returned to the Dales.

Earlier this year, it was rumoured that Vinny would be written out of the show, alongside numerous other fan-favourite characters. Johnson's exit is reportedly part of a huge cast shake-up, though it is yet to be officially confirmed.

While attending the 2026 TRIC Awards, Riley was asked about her on-screen son, and reiterated that his departure was "not confirmed".

"I don't know where that's come from! I can't confirm nor deny," she told the Daily Express, adding: "He's my dream. We are like family. We're so close. You can see how much we laugh. We're a family at Emmerdale, and we are really happy.

"But whatever happens... I could be going! I'm not, I'm signed for a very long time."

Fans know that Riley recently signed a new one-year contract with the soap, following her stint on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!. Addressing what's ahead for her character, the star revealed Mandy's unlikely bond with Kev Townsend.

"Mandy is not happy with Kev. She can spot a rogue a mile off, can't she?" Riley said. "Watch out Kev, the smother mother might be coming out. Then again, with Kev, over time, they could grow closer."

She went on to praise her co-star Chris Coghill, who plays Kev, describing herself as his "biggest cheerleader".

"I adore him. Chris Coghill is a genius to work with, phenomenally funny and on his lines so much that you can play with dialogue with him," the actor added. "Doing comedy is an actor's dream. I'm his biggest cheerleader."

Meanwhile, Vinny isn't the only character who could be saying farewell to the village, as actor Nick Miles is also reportedly leaving, after playing Jimmy King for over two decades. Olivia Bromley, who plays Dawn Fletcher, is another star who could be exiting - though fans will have to stay tuned to find out.

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
