Emmerdale stars pay tribute as popular character is killed off

Emmerdale spoilers follow.

A swarm of Emmerdale stars have paid tribute to Liv Dingle, after she was tragically killed in the show on Wednesday night (October 19).

Liv became the second casualty of Storm Week, when she and Vinny were trying to escape into The Woolpack and Liv was crushed by a caravan.

In the heartbreaking scenes, Liv said her final goodbyes, bringing an end to Isobel Steele’s seven years on the ITV soap.

Since this episode aired, there has been an outpouring of support for the young actress on social media, including from her fellow castmates.

Lisa Riley, who plays Liv's mother-in-law Mandy, shared a lengthy heartfelt message on Twitter, along with a photo of the two of them beaming on set.

She began: "My favourite TIDDLES (Izzy) thank you for your friendship, thank you for your talent, thank you for the laughs, thank you for your UNIQUENESS, thank you for your individuality, thank you for your kindness."

Riley added: "It’s simple really, going to miss you like crazy because YOU are YOU!!! All the reasons above, is what makes you the truest version of YOU!!"

She concluded: "Shine like a star, stay as grounded as you’ve always been, mention me in your Golden Globes speech, and know we will be friends for life, and my life was richer for having you in it!"

Liv's on-screen husband Vinny, actor Bradley Johnson, also took the time to reflect on his remarkable three years with Steele, as the couple were at the centre of some of the biggest storylines in recent months.

"What can I say… 3 years working with this legend! And what a few years it’s been!" he tweeted with a photo of the two of them.

"To have this storyline and being part of @emmerdale 50th has been an absolute dream! Go and smahs it @isobel_stelle and please don’t forget me when you’re in Hollywood! Really going to miss ya."

After her dramatic exit from the show, Steele also took to Instagram to thank the cast and crew and reflected on the difficult decision to leave the main cast of the show.

"And that’s a wrap on Liv Dingle," Steele wrote, alongside a series of behind-the-scenes set photos. "Hard to put into words what this show and the people in it mean to me and how big a decision it was to leave.

"Thank you to every single person I ever worked with and to those that pushed me to be a better person and a better actor.

It comes after Steele recorded an emotional video for the Emmerdale social media channels, where she said goodbye to viewers.

"I hope it made you cry. I definitely cried when I read it and it's been a pleasure. It's been the best seven years of my life," the actress said.
