Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale fans haven't been too pleased with a recent Dingle storyline, seeing Chas having an affair.

Actress Lucy Pargeter, who has been playing the character since 2002, has weighed in on the backlash over Chas going behind her husband Paddy's (Dominic Brunt) back and sleeping with Al Chapman (Michael Wildman).

"We all love a naughty boy, don't we? Genuinely people are not liking them together. You have got the cheerleaders for Al and Chas but we have definitely got the absolute haters for Chas and what she's doing to Paddy and the reasons behind it," Pargeter told Digital Spy and other media.

"As an actor you have to find the truth in it and trust what your character has been given."
