Emmerdale has aired a goodbye message from Isobel Steele following Liv Dingle's exit.

The beloved character has become the second casualty of Storm Week, after the death of Harriet, when Liv was crushed by a caravan in another epic stunt.

Shortly after Liv passed away on screen, the soap released a light-hearted goodbye message where Isobel Steele got to say goodbye to viewers.

"I hope it made you cry. I definitely cried when I read it and it's been a pleasure. It's been the best seven years of my life," the actress said.

"It's been all worth it because of you, so thank you so much."

Before the clip cuts off, on-screen Bradley Johnson pops up to tease Izzy a bit, demanding her security pass back because she's been "prolonging [her] exit a bit".

It had been reported that Isobel Steele was leaving Emmerdale before this anniversary, though the exact details of her departure were held back until they aired on Wednesday night.

Fans were warned ahead of time, as producer Jane Hudson told Digital Spy and other media that it was important for Storm Week to have consequences.

"There will be a huge storm that will wreak damage on the entire village and change everyone's lives forever," Hudson had promised.

"It's going to be a very special month and we hope everyone will really enjoy it all. But the 50th is not just a celebration of Emmerdale – it is a celebration of what makes soaps great."

Steele has been a cast member in the soap since 2016, and was recently at the centre of a major storyline where Liv discovered her mum Sandra was trying to sabotage her marriage to Vinny.

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV, and streams on the ITV Hub.
