Emmerdale spoilers follow from Tuesday's episode.

Emmerdale schemer Jamie Tate has given away most of his access rights to his daughter Millie in a desperate bid to stay out of prison.

The latest storyline twist was revealed in Tuesday night's hour-long episode (October 6), which explained why Andrea has switched sides in the ongoing battle over Moira Dingle's hit and run.

Earlier this week, Andrea gave Jamie (Alexander Lincoln) a false alibi when questioned by the police over the night that Moira was run over.

Andrea's reasons became clear as Jamie spiralled into despair and self-pity in the wake of the secret deal that they'd made.

Jamie was seen drawing up an arrangement with his solicitor, before venting his frustrations to Lydia Dingle: "I have just signed away my daughter to save my own skin. Still think I'm not so bad? I'm the worst there is."

Later, Andrea was seen packing up some of Millie's things at Home Farm, as the schoolgirl would no longer be living with Jamie.

Andrea reminded Jamie that he'd still be entitled to supervised visits every couple of weeks, but recommended waiting for two months before starting the new arrangement.

She also pointed out that this was better for him than the alternative – being in prison and barely seeing Millie at all.

Meanwhile, Chas Dingle's relationship with Paddy Kirk deteriorated further after Bear Wolf's meddling forced them to talk about her making a play for Al Chapman.

Although Paddy tried to brush off the whole situation at first, he later encouraged Chas to take baby Eve and go to see Debbie in Scotland for a while – wanting time apart. Is it only a matter of time before the couple split for good?
