Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale has confirmed a new setback for Aaron Dingle next week as he continues reacquainting himself with Ben Tucker.

Show bosses have recently introduced Simon Lennon in the role of Ben, who has been brought in as a new love interest for Aaron (Danny Miller).

Viewers have already seen a few different problems crop up for the potential couple. They initially had upsetting issues from the past to sort out, as Aaron used to bully Ben at school for being gay.

Aaron also stood up Ben for their kayaking date last week, after receiving a letter which confirmed that his divorce from Robert Sugden had been finalised.

Speaking to Digital Spy recently about his character, Simon explained: "Ben has led his own life and then suddenly there's this chance encounter where they've been reintroduced. I think so many things happen in that moment for him – there's pain, there's regret, there's embarrassment, and so much stuff.

"It's a lot to process. Ben is working out what it's going to be like if they're in close vicinity for the foreseeable future, and how he's going to feel about that."

Emmerdale airs these scenes on Wednesday, October 14 at 7pm on ITV.
