On tonight's Emmerdale (August 26) Dawn Taylor continued to be consumed by guilt over murdering DI Malone.

Monday's episode saw Dawn's father Will (Dean Andrews) dragged into the local police station for an intense inquiry, where he was grilled about his relationship with missing Malone (Mark Womack).

Tonight, Dawn (Olivia Bromley) was at home with Harriet (Katherine Dow Blyton), worried and fraught with guilt as her dad was questioned.

Dawn told Harriet she was convinced the police are going to want to pin Malone's death on someone – and her dad would be an easy target.

But Harriet tried to keep Dawn calm by reminding her that the police don't even know Malone is dead yet.

Harriet then offered to go to the police station to see what was going on. She later returned with Will who had been released without charge.

Will seemed okay, just a little shaken up by the questioning, but he was more concerned when he found out Dawn had dumped Billy.

Unable to tell her dad the truth, Dawn said she had broken up with him because they hadn't been getting on very well recently.

Later, Harriet caught Dawn on the phone with a friend who she wanted to go and stay with her for a while.

While Dawn was adamant she wasn't strong enough to keep such a heavy secret, Harriet convinced her to stay, saying she was able to be strong enough for both of them.

However, Harriet didn't do a very good job, as later on she and Will heard Dawn leaving the house.

The two rushed out to stop her but Dawn told her dad she needed a break after ending things will Billy. Billy turned up just in time to hear the argument and tried to convince Dawn to change her mind.

While Billy wasn't successful, Dawn eventually reluctantly agreed to stay in the village after Harriet and Will persuaded her.

But Billy wasn't the only person who heard the argument. DS Wise was secretly observing them and was heard telling someone on the phone it was obvious that they were hiding something and they should keep the pressure on.

Is their murderous secret about to be exposed?
