EastEnders spoilers follow for Wednesday’s episode (8 July), which is available to watch now on streaming service BBC iPlayer and hasn’t yet aired on TV.

EastEnders has aired the ending to Bea Pollard’s story, as the villain finally faces consequences for her actions. This week, Bea framed Billy Mitchell for her supposed murder, then kidnapped his wife Honey after being lured back to Walford.

Honey managed to escape the cottage she was taken to and reunited with Billy and her friends. Bea returned to the Square one last time and held Billy hostage, but during a tense confrontation with Honey, the police arrived and she was arrested.

In today’s episode, Honey and Billy got the news that they could return to their home, with the police investigation having concluded. But Billy still feared that the community thought of him as a murderer, especially after Honey held the vigil for Bea.

As Honey, Nicola and Linda discussed Bea, Honey raged at what her former best friend had done to her and her family – but it was clear that Linda, Bea’s old classmate and bully, had more complicated feelings about the situation.

Honey was keen to get her and Billy’s relationship back on track, so she told him that she would book a table at Knight Fusion for after her follow-up appointment with the doctor.

Billy stepped up and surprised Honey by showing up at the GP surgery. Honey took the opportunity to apologise to Billy for believing Bea’s lies and made it clear to her husband that she always has and always will love him.

When the GP arrived, Honey stood up for herself and demanded that she receives HRT treatment, and while she was shut down earlier in the year, she was finally listened to.

Meanwhile, Linda was allowed to visit Bea in custody, and took accountability for what happened at school, apologising if the bullying was what led to this chaotic chain of events.

But Bea refused to take responsibility for what she did in return, insisting that she was only ever trying to be friendly.

With that, Linda decided to walk away for good, and left Bea to meet her duty solicitor – who introduced herself as Mrs Bumble, and who may just become her new best friend…
