EastEnders spoilers follow from Thursday's episode (February 27), which is available to watch now on streaming service BBC iPlayer but hasn't yet aired on BBC One.
EastEnders favourite Stacey Slater has once again been forced to lie over her emotional final moments with her ex-husband Martin Fowler.
In Thursday's episode, Stacey found herself caught up in a web of deceit as a dramatic intervention from her daughter Lily risked making everything worse.
Stacey stepped in to calm Martin's grieving partner Ruby Allen, after she'd finally heard the truth about who he really wanted to be with.
Earlier this week, Stacey confided in her friend Eve Unwin about how she and Martin had declared their love for each other shortly before his tragic death. Lily overheard the emotional heart-to-heart between Stacey and Eve at home.

Keen to keep quiet about what really happened after the Queen Vic explosion, Stacey swore Lily to secrecy. Understandably, she didn't want to heap any further misery on Ruby by letting her know that Martin had planned to leave her.
Thursday's episode saw the inevitable happen, as a grief-stricken Lily was unable to keep quiet about what she knew.
Tensions reached a boiling point as Martin's family and friends gathered at the local club for a memorial event to celebrate his life.

Ruby organised the occasion and tried to keep it as a sombre, classy affair. However, Martin's loved ones felt that it wasn't truly in keeping with his fun-loving nature – with Lily branding it "stuffy and stuck-up".
When tensions unfolded and it all became too much, Lily publicly humiliated Ruby with a shocking outburst.
In front of the gathered mourners, Lily ranted: "He never loved you. He told my mum, the night he died, he loved her. He wanted to marry her!"
Ruby was stunned by the revelation and decided to seek answers directly from Stacey. She rushed out of the club and turned up on Stacey's doorstep, where she demanded to know whether Lily's claims were true.

Despite being put on the spot, Stacey thought quickly and insisted that Lily had simply misinterpreted a conversation that she'd overheard earlier on.
Stacey once again reassured Ruby that Martin loved her and didn't want to be with anyone else.
Although Ruby seemed to accept this, is it only a matter of time before the sad truth dawns on her?
EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
