EastEnders star Kellie Bright has paid tribute to co-star Danny Dyer following his tragic exit over the weekend as Mick Carter.
The actor made his last appearance on Christmas Day after Mick seemingly drowned while trying to rescue Kellie's character Linda after the car she was in with Janine plummeted into the sea. Unbeknownst to him, she had already managed to get to shore.
Following the shocking scenes, Kellie has taken to her Instagram page to share a sweet picture with Danny, alongside an emotional tribute in the comments.

Kellie added of the snap: "This photo was taken on our last day on set together (we were both a bit puffy eyed from the water tank) but it really sums us up. We made each other smile. Every day. I will always be grateful for that.
"Sad as I am that our TV coupling is over, Kellie and Danny will be friends forever. Thank you for EVERYTHING. See you in the real world very soon. Love your L," she concluded.
EastEnders boss Chris Clenshaw recently spoke of the importance of having Mick and Linda together at the end.
"I think it was really important that we did reunite the two of them. If you know the history of these two characters, they are the love of each other’s lives, that’s in their DNA," he told Digital Spy and other media.

"What was a challenge for us was to find a way to exit Mick while keeping hold of Linda, because Mick wouldn’t leave Linda and wouldn’t leave his kids, so it was incredibly difficult. We did reconcile them, I think that’s a beautiful moment."
Further teasing possible closure regarding Mick's fate, he added: "You’ll have to wait and see. It’s EastEnders so anything could happen."
EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
