EastEnders spoilers follow.
EastEnders was the most-watched soap on Christmas Day, with more than 3 million people following Mick Carter's final scenes.
In January, actor Danny Dyer announced he would leave the BBC soap after nine years. His character Mick was given a dramatic send-off amidst his love triangle with scheming fiancé Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) and ex-wife Linda (Kellie Bright).
Though not the most-watched programme overall on December 25, Mick's final episode of EastEnders earned 3.17 million viewers, followed by Coronation Street and Emmerdale with 2.85 and 2.56 million respectively (via Twitter).

Once her lies were exposed, the woman fled but Mick and Linda followed her, and their vehicle plummeted into the sea. Mick dived underwater to save his ex-wife who, unbeknown to him, had managed to escape the wreckage. Fans were left fearing the worst as the screen faded to black.
The episode marked Dyer's final moments as Mick, while tonight's scenes will be the last Walford sees of Janine for the time being.

It is not clear whether Mick's ex-fiancée, who had framed her rival Linda for a car crash earlier this year, will be held accountable for her crimes.
As for Linda, she will continue being "at the heart" of Albert Square in a new, groundbreaking storyline, as EastEnders boss Chris Clenshaw confirmed to Digital Spy and other media.
EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
