EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders' Alfie Moon hasn't given-up hope of getting back together with his ex-wife, Kat Slater.

It's the reason he returned to Walford last month, just in time to jeopardise Kat's wedding to Phil Mitchell.

Alfie could stand a better chance now that Kat's fella Phil has been forced to flee Albert Square to avoid another run-in with DCI Keeble and gangster, Jonah Tyler.

Next week on EastEnders, Alfie gets a helping hand from Linda Carter, who attempts to work a bit of match-making magic between the former couple.

Alfie is helping out Linda at the Vic while Mick and Janine are away on holiday. Linda is not really in the mood to celebrate Halloween as it brings back bad memories about her and Mick.

Unfortunately, Alfie finds himself in Kat's bad books when she discovers he has let their sons, Bert and Ernie, bunk-off school for Halloween and she refuses to let him have the boys for the weekend!

Feeling bad, Linda comes-up with a plan to help him. But it's always one step forward then two steps back for Alfie.

After making some positive progress with Kat, he totally messes-up by getting stuck on the roof of The Vic and unable to pick-up Tommy.

Furious with Alfie for yet another mishap, Kat forbids him to be with the boys.

Linda feels to blame and tries to explain to Kat that it's her fault that Alfie was up on the roof of the Vic in the first place.
