Coronation Street star Adam Hussain has cleared up the hilarious on-screen blunder from the most recent episode.

Monday's (23 June) instalment of the ITV soap saw Hussain's character, Aadi Alahan, organise a party for the younger residents of Weatherfield as he sought to leave his shell and have some fun.

After an incident which saw Lauren Bolton leave the party, Aadi attempted to find her as he raced through the cobbled streets, but his efforts were scuppered for a brief period as the figure tripped up a step.

Taking to Instagram Stories, Hussain revealed that the fall was actually a real-life blunder on the actor's part during filming, with the trip being included in the scene as it reflected his character's panicked state of mind.

"How was your trip? Was this scripted or a genuine trip," asked an eagle-eyed Corrie fan, with Hussain quoting the question on his story as he replied "that was not scripted" with a laughing emoji.

Hussain, who debuted as Aadi in 2020, confirmed in April that he would be exiting the soap later this year, writing on Instagram: "I guess the secret's out now! As some of you may have heard, I will be leaving Coronation Street for new pastures.

"Over the five years I've spent there, I have learned so much about the world and the industry and now feel I am ready to spread my wings a little. I have made friends that will last a lifetime and will surely miss such a special family!

"This isn't a farewell for Aadi, however, more like a see you later! I'm excited to see what the future brings! Thank you @coronationstreet @itv for giving me such a privilege of portraying this character for you. Until next time!"

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
