Kit Green's secret was finally exposed on Coronation Street, with Brody Michaelis left reeling from the news.

It was revealed earlier this year that the policeman could possibly be Brody's father, though the troubled teenager and the villainous Mick Michaelis remained unaware as Lou Michaelis reasoned that such a fact could destroy the family.

Despite being urged to stay away, Kit has found himself drawn to the potential that he has a son, and organised a DNA test – with some help from his mother Bernie Winter – to conclusively solve the matter.

Monday's (23 June) episode saw Kit confirm to Bernie that he had received results from the test, though was yet to open them. After some not-so-gentle persuasion from Bernie, Kit eventually opened the email.

Brody, meanwhile, had invited himself and Dylan Wilson to Aadi Alahan's party. He was soon kicked out, however, as he was spotted with an illegal substance. After Aadi confiscated it, Brody smashed a bottle and flipped a table as his anger got the better of him.

Just as it looked as if a fight would break out, Kit and Bernie intervened by telling Brody that they'd call Lou if he didn't go home, with the teenager telling Kit and Aadi that they were both "dead men".

Brody later ambushed Kit as he attempted to fight him, with tensions soon escalating after he made remarks about Kit's romance with Daisy Midgeley. Bernie then brought the war of words to a shuddering halt, revealing that Kit was Brody's father.

After a tense conversation, Brody remained in disbelief, and sought clarification from Lou over the matter. She later lambasted Bernie and Kit over their actions, urging the latter to stay away from Brody.

How will Brody react to the twist? And will Kit heed Lou's warning to stay away from their son?

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
