Coronation Street's Daisy Midgeley scores victory in Rovers Return plan

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Daisy Midgeley has scored a huge victory in her plan to rescue the Rovers Return in Coronation Street.

Last week, Daisy's plan to buy the Rovers with partner Daniel Osbourne crumbled after she confessed to him that she'd slept with Ryan Connor.

Daniel subsequently dumped Daisy, leaving the plan to save the pub in ruins. However, Daisy got an unexpected upper hand in Monday's (December 18) episode.

Daisy had been trying to get her hands on serial killer Stephen's diary, in hopes of finding out where he hid the money he'd stolen from the Underworld factory accounts.

She initially asked Stephen's mum Audrey for access to his diary, which Audrey refused. Once Daisy noticed the Platts were all together at the Bistro, she swiped David's keys and broke into No8.

As Daisy rummaged through the flat for any sign of the diary, she was forced to hide when Audrey arrived home suddenly.

Daisy rushed upstairs but watched as Audrey retrieved the diary and left with it. The intruder then placed David's keys on the table and slipped out the back door.

With Jenny stunned over how far Daisy was willing to go, she warned her stepdaughter she wanted no part of stealing money that belonged to Carla. Nevertheless, Daisy was thrilled to see Audrey simply throwing away the journal.

Back at Rita's flat, Daisy returned to Stephen's old laptop with the journal in her hands – and after rifling through the book for clues, she finally found the password to his bank account.

Daisy's eyes widened as she suddenly had access to more than £247K of Stephen's stolen money. But will she use stolen funds to buy the Rovers?
