Coronation Street's Chesney Brown will keep a big secret from his partner Gemma Winter this Christmas, as he hides his financial worries in an attempt to give the family a fun-filled festive season.
In scenes to air next week, Chesney (Sam Aston) will worry about how he and Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) are going to fund Christmas, particularly with Joseph and the quadruplets to take care of.
With Gemma having recently started selling cosmetics, Chesney urges Gemma to get down to the fitness centre and try to sell some more of the make-up range.

Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell) approaches Gemma to apologise for stealing her customers and offers to buy her stock at cost. While Gemma is tempted, she assures him that there's no need.

Meanwhile, Chesney offers to have a word with market trader Big Garth (Victor McGuire) and get Gemma set up with a stall at the Christmas market, leaving Gemma thrilled – and Chesney is delighted to see his partner being so optimistic.
Later in the week, Chesney, Gemma and Kirk Sutherland (Andrew Whyment) set up their stall at the Christmas market but it becomes clear that Gemma's sales skills are very much not up to scratch. Chesney orders Gemma to take a break and he and Kirk then enjoy a successful afternoon on the stall.

Unfortunately, their joy is short-lived and they later discover that not only has someone stolen all their stock, but their cash tin has also gone.
Later, Chesney and Kirk return home laden down with Christmas presents, and a delighted Gemma assumes the pair have managed to sell off all of the make-up.
But Chesney and Kirk are keeping a big secret about where the money for the presents really came from and they make a pact to keep quiet about it.
Will Gemma find out the truth about where Chesney got the money from? And with Chesney clearly struggling with his financial worries, how will he cope once Christmas has been and gone?
Coronation Street airs these scenes on Monday, December 21 and Wednesday, December 23 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
