Coronation Street's Nick Tilsley is set to meet his secret son next week.
Last week Nick (Ben Price) was shocked to discover he has a 9-year-old son named Sam with his former girlfriend Natasha (Rachel Leskovac).
While Nick wants to be a part of his son's life, he hasn't come clean to his girlfriend Leanne about Sam's existence.
And the timing couldn't be worse for Leanne, who is dealing with her and Steve's son Oliver's devastating illness.
Next week, Nick's sister Sarah will let slip to David that Oliver's illness isn't the only cause of Nick's recent stress.
What to Read Next
David will then press her to reveal that Nick has just found out he's a father. While Nick insists he doesn't need the added complication in his life, David urges him to consider what his son needs.
Later in the week, when Nick opens a letter from Sam, he tells Natasha he's changed his mind and would like to meet his son.
When they do meet at Nick's flat, Sam reveals he has a passion for astronomy.
Meanwhile, Leanne and Steve are told at the hospital that after discussions with the clinic in Germany, they've reached the decision that Oliver's condition is so severe they're unable to offer him treatment.
The news makes Leanne furious but as she tells Nick how the doctors have completely abandoned Oliver, Nick surreptitiously reads a text from his son.
Given the unfortunate timing, how can he tell Leanne what's going on?
Coronation Street airs these scenes on Monday, September 28 and Friday, October 2 on ITV.
