Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street star Sair Khan has admitted that her character Alya Nazir could be playing into Geoff Metcalfe's hands next week as she loses her composure at work.
Upcoming episodes see Alya face a tough time as Geoff (Ian Bartholomew) focuses his evil attentions on making her life miserable.
Keen to exert control at Speed Daal, Geoff winds up Alya by applying for the business to have an alcohol licence – knowing this is explicitly against her wishes.
Geoff also tries to sabotage Alya's time at the restaurant by cancelling staff shifts, which leaves her struggling alone with several take-out orders.

When it all becomes too much, Alya throws everyone out of the place and smashes it up in a frenzy. But when Geoff arrives with Tim (Joe Duttine) in tow, will hapless Tim take this as more "evidence" that Alya could be the problem?
Speaking about the drama ahead, Sair explained: "Alya is the only family Yasmeen has on the street right now, so she feels an immense pressure on her shoulders.
"I think it's more than just stress – it's a very real fight to find justice and keep her family alive. As soon as one problem is sorted, another one rears its ugly head.
"It's all bubbling away under the surface right now, but I definitely think this will push Alya to breaking point.

"Alya's wish is to look after Speed Daal and her gran's house at Number 6 until Yasmeen is freed from prison. Frustratingly, she already lost the fight to keep Geoff out of her family home, so now the business is all the Nazirs have.
"Alya is so angry when Geoff applies for the liquor license. He knows that Zeedan built the business from scratch and didn't want to sell alcohol at Speed Daal, which is precisely why he's doing it, to wind Alya up."
Asked about Alya smashing up Speed Daal, Sair replied: "It was so much fun to film those scenes. There was a small 'stunt' element involved, so I got to work with Kate Waters, who is the fight arranger at Corrie.
"She gave me some great tips on how I could physicalise Alya's rage, in a safe way!

"I'm sure Geoff would have loved the chance to gloat at Alya's distress, but he doesn't get the chance as there are too many other people around.
"But Alya could be playing right into his hands. There's no way to know with Geoff. He's so conniving, you never know what he's going to do next."
Coronation Street currently airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm on ITV.
