Coronation Street's David Platt faces new challenges with his estranged wife Shona next week as he continues to fight for their future.
David (Jack P Shepherd) is inspired to try harder with Shona after some words of advice from Roy Cropper's niece Nina Lucas.
During a chat at the cafe, Nina (Mollie Gallagher) tells David that Shona always seems to be more upbeat when he's around.
This pleases David, who immediately decides to keep spending time with Shona (Julia Goulding) in the hope that he's turning things around.

David arranges to take Shona for a walk later on, but there's more trouble to come as it doesn't go exactly to plan.
While we can't give away exactly what happens, it's clear to David that the future won't be plain sailing for him and Shona.
Later, Shona gets upset as she blames herself for the latest setback.
She tells David that she knows some of her behaviour is unacceptable, but he needs to take into account that it's beyond her control.

After the shooting incident on the cobbles last Christmas, Shona suffered a brain injury and lost years' worth of memories. As a result, her personality is currently very different from the one that David once knew.
In the aftermath of their difficult day next week, David assures Shona that she seems to be improving all the time. Against the odds, could the day's events continue to draw them closer?
