Casualty spoilers follow for Saturday's episode (13 June), which hasn't yet aired on TV and is available to watch now on BBC iPlayer. This article has storyline details that some viewers may prefer to avoid.
Casualty finally exposes Stevie Nash and Matty Linlaker's secret affair, as Dylan Keogh discovers the truth about his best friend and his son's betrayal. In a dramatic episode, Dylan makes a big decision that will have major consequences for everyone involved.
After Stevie ended their relationship over text the previous night, Matty drowned his sorrows – and in today's episode of the BBC medical drama, he wakes up in his car with a hangover.

Dylan finds him and scolds his son for being irresponsible, warning him that his fellowship could be taken away at any given moment. Matty, however, suggests that he might be leaving Holby soon anyway.
As his shift gets under way, Matty works with Stevie and helps to successfully save the life of a critically ill patient, but he then scurries off to vomit following his heavy night of drinking.

When Stevie finds out about Matty's exit plans, she goes to see him – having received many drunk texts from him the previous evening. The pair have an honest chat about their relationship, with Matty still not quite understanding why she ended things between them.
Later, Matty spies a chat between Stevie and Flynn, and realises that they were out at a bar together just as she sent him a break-up text. Matty confronts Stevie about the nature of her relationship with Flynn, refusing to believe that there is nothing between them.

In resus later, Dylan watches Matty snap at Stevie, so he rages at him for being rude to his friend and the doctor who saved his career. This is the final straw for Matty, who confesses that it was Stevie who made the serious mistake for which he covered her for.
Dylan is baffled as to why Matty would do that, but it soon dawns on him that Stevie was the girl that he had been pining over. Matty tells his shocked dad every detail about their secret liaison, and Dylan puts the full blame on Stevie as the much more senior doctor.
Matty manages to convince Dylan to let him sort things out with Stevie himself. Later, Stevie apologises to him for being selfish and taking advantage of him, and the pair amicably draw a line under their fling.

Stevie is then called to Flynn's office and realises that Dylan has made a complaint against her. This not only covers her near-fatal mistake in prescribing too much morphine to a child, but also her undeclared relationship with Matty – which amounts to sexual coercion.
With an investigation due to take place about this allegation, will Dylan's report end Stevie's medical career?
