One Day fans are in for a treat! Netflix has released an official trailer for People We Meet on Vacation, starring Tom Blyth (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes) and Emily Bader (My Lady Jane). A romantic-comedy slated for release on 9 January 2026, the upcoming film is based on Emily Henry's bestselling novel.
Polar opposites free-spirited Poppy (Bader) and super-organised Alex (Blyth) couldn't be more different, but somehow they've been best friends for a decade, spending each and every summer together. As they head on their latest vacation, however, the duo find themselves wondering if they have romantic feelings for one another.
Following the trailer's debut, fans have praised Blyth and Bader's respective portrayals as "perfect" in the comments. "Everyone say thank you, Emily Henry! Tom and Emily are literally the perfect Poppy and Alex. I'm so ready for this," wrote one. "My favourite EmHen book. These two are perfect as Poppy-Alex. Gah. Worth the wait," agreed a second.
Joining Blyth and Bader, the movie also stars Sarah Catherine Hook, Jameela Jamil, Lucien Laviscount, Lukas Gage, Miles Heizer, Tommy Do, Alice Lee, Alan Ruck and Molly Shannon.
Teasing what's to come, Henry has praised Blyth and Bader for their palpable on-screen chemistry. "I've been kind of an anxious wreck about who would play these characters," the author told Netflix's Tudum.

People We Meet on Vacation isn't the only one of Henry's books coming to the big screen. Adaptations of Beach Read and Book Lovers are both in development, however, few details have been released.
