Netflix's People We Meet on Vacation has received an official release date, alongside some first-look images of the leads.
Based on Emily Henry's bestselling novel, the movie tells the friends-to-lovers story of long-distance besties Poppy and Alex, who spend every summer on holiday together.
Despite their differences, the pair seem to perfectly balance each other out - a fact that is obvious to everyone around them. But could their unlikely friendship finally lead to a romantic connection?
The upcoming adaptation was announced back in 2024, with Brett Haley on board as director. Netflix has now confirmed that the movie will be arriving on 9 January 2026.
The streaming service also released some first-look images of Tom Blyth as pragmatic Alex and Emily Bader as happy-go-lucky Poppy.

One picture sees the two leads enjoying the summer sun during a fun day out, while a second shows them spending a cosy evening together. In another snap Poppy relaxes alone on the beach with a book to keep her company.
"This is a movie that doesn't just tell a love story," Haley told Tudum. "It makes you feel like you've gone on vacation right alongside Poppy and Alex."

Meanwhile, fans of the book will be relieved to hear that Henry has already given Blyth and Bader her seal of approval.
"I watched their chemistry read four times in 12 hours, and I loved it more every single time," said the author. "The very first time I was laughing out loud, and I got so emotional by the end."
"Emily and Tom's chemistry is electric. They capture that opposites-attract dynamic in a way that feels effortless and true," agreed Haley.
People We Meet on Vacation will arrive on Netflix on 9 January 2026.
