Jamie Lee Curtis has confirmed her involvement in the Murder, She Wrote reboot.

The classic series starred Angela Lansbury as Jessica Fletcher, a crime writer who solved mysterious murders in the fictional town of Cabot Cove, Maine. The show ran for 12 seasons from 1984 to 1996, and went on to receive four television films.

In 2023, a reboot movie was announced, with Orange Is the New Black duo Rebecca Angelo and Lauren Schuker Blum on board to write and executive produce.

Meanwhile, Curtis was reportedly set to take on the iconic lead role - a rumour which she has now officially confirmed.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, the actor was asked about the possibility of a Murder, She Wrote reboot.

"Oh it's..." Curtis began, taking a dramatic pause. She grinned at the camera before concluding her sentence: "Happening."

"We're a minute away. But very excited. Very excited," Curtis continued. "But I'm tamping down my enthusiasm until we start shooting. I have a couple other things to hustle and then I'll get to enjoy that work."

The interview took place on the red carpet of Curtis' upcoming movie Freakier Friday, which lands in UK cinemas on 8 August. The long-awaited sequel reunites the cast of the beloved original, with Lindsay Lohan, Chad Michael Murray and Stephen Tobolowsky all reprising their roles.

Freakier Friday will feature a grown up Anna who is navigating motherhood with her own daughter Harper (Julia Butters) and soon-to-be step-daughter Lily (Sophia Hammons).

Anna (Lohan) and Tess (Curtis) are once again embroiled in a hilarious body-swap situation - but this time, they're not the only ones involved.

Freakier Friday will be released in cinemas on 8 August, 2025.
