New action comedy movie Heads of State has topped the Prime Video streaming charts worldwide following its debut.

The film premiered direct-to-streaming on Wednesday (2 July) and is currently standing tall as the most-watched film worldwide on Amazon's service (via Flixpatrol).

The film stars Idris Elba, John Cena, Jack Quaid, Priyanka Chopra, Paddy Considine, Carla Gugino, and Stephen Root.

It follows a bickering US President and UK Prime Minister who travel together on Air Force One when it gets shot down by a Russian terrorist.

The duo are left stranded in Belarus and must find a way to get along and make their way through Europe, while also working out who in their teams betrayed them.

The film has done decently with critics, with a 67% positive score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Fans liked it more, with one viewer calling it "exactly the kind of high-octane nonsense we need more of" and "delightfully chaotic", stating "Elba and Cena are the unlikely dream ticket you didn't know you were voting for".

Another review called it "an extremely silly film" that "will happily fill 117 minutes".

Cena has multiple projects in the pipeline, including the second season of his DC superhero series Peacemaker.

There's also the Looney Tunes movie Coyote vs Acme, which had been indefinitely shelved by Warner Bros a few years back, but has finally been rescued by Ketchup Entertainment, the company that released The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie earlier this year.

It doesn't have a specific release date, but is expected to come out at some point in 2026.

Heads of State can now be streamed on Prime Video.
