The Beatles fans are all making the same complaint after the cast of Sam Mendes's upcoming four-part biopic was announced.
The 1917 and Skyfall filmmaker is set to direct four Beatles movies – one for each member of the Fab Four – with all planned to be released in April 2028.
Mendes brought the cast out on stage at CinemaCon in Las Vegas yesterday, officially confirming that Paul Mescal will star as Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson will play John Lennon, Joseph Quinn will take on the role of George Harrison, and Barry Keoghan will play Ringo Starr.
However, fans have expressed their confusion over the casting after a group photograph of the actors was shared to Instagram by Sony Pictures, with several saying they don't see the resemblance.
"Couldn’t find any actors that at least resemble them slightly?" commented one fan, while another wrote: "Love these actors but they don't even resemble The Beatles."

"Do the casting directors even know what The Beatles look like?" said another, with a fourth adding: "They look nothing alike, I couldn’t even guess who was who."
However, given this is a photo of the actors rather than them as The Beatles, opinions may change once movie magic – aka costuming, wigs, prosthetics and makeup – transforms them.
Mendes has promised that the project, which is officially titled The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event, will be the "first binge-able theatrical experience", adding: "We need big cinematic events to get people out of the house."

The director has wanted to bring the Fab Four to screens for years, but didn’t want to make a mini-series and worried that "the story was too huge to fit into a single movie."
So for the chance to understand each member "more deeply", he will release four standalone movies, with each being from the perspective of a different Beatle.
The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event will be released in cinemas in April 2028.
