Paul Mescal is fast becoming one of the biggest stars around after his lead turn in last year's Gladiator II, and tonight you can go back to (almost) the very beginning of his career.
After he broke through with Normal People, Mescal's second movie role was the underseen Irish drama God's Creatures where he starred alongside Emily Watson and Aisling Franciosi.
The movie is set in an Irish fishing village where a mother (Watson) is torn between protecting her beloved son (Mescal) and her own sense of right and wrong, leading to a lie she tells for him ripping apart their family.
If that sounds like something you want to see, God's Creatures airs tonight at 11.06pm on BBC Two, following a short introduction from BBC 6Music film critic Rhianna Dhillon.
