Zoe Kravitz has broken her silence on her split from Channing Tatum, saying she still cares for him "very much".

It was reported in October that the former couple had decided to call off their engagement and end their relationship after three years of dating.

News of their split came just a few months after the release of Kravitz's directorial debut Blink Twice, which stars Tatum as a tech billionaire with sinister motives.

During a new interview with Elle, Kravitz was asked if their split had changed the way she feels about the film.

"Not at all," she replied. "I love this thing that we made together, and I care for him very much.

"Even when you bring up how great his performance is, it warms my heart to hear that, and I’m so happy that all of it happened. I just feel so grateful that we got to go on that journey together."

Continuing to praise her former fiancé, Kravitz said: "He has so much more coming, and I think he’s in a place as an actor where he’s feeling really confident and people are seeing different sides of him. He’s got a lot to offer, so I’m excited for people to keep witnessing that."

Just a few days before news of their split broke, it was announced that Kravitz and Tatum had signed on to star in a new alien invasion comedy from the Zellner Brothers, alongside Cate Blanchett, Dave Bautista, Steven Yeun, Léa Seydoux and Riley Keough.

Titled Alpha Gang, the upcoming film will follow a group of alien invaders who disguise themselves as a 1950s biker gang as they set out on a mission to invade Earth. However, their ruthless plans are derailed when they succumb to "humanity’s most contagious condition" - emotion.

Blink Twice is available to stream now on Prime Video and Apple TV+.
