Per the synopsis: "Dean (Ryan Gosling) and Cindy (Michelle Williams) live a quiet life in a modest neighborhood. To the casual observer, everything appears normal, if a bit subdued. But a closer examination reveals a couple caught in a downward spiral.
"They appear to have the world at their feet at the outset of the relationship. However, his lack of ambition and her retreat into self-absorption cause potentially irreversible cracks in their marriage."

Previously speaking about the film, Gosling said: "I think it's a cautionary tale to see this movie; it gives you a heads-up, what to watch out for. Make sure it doesn't happen to you."

He continued: "I think that most movies pretend that they know everything and this was a film that wasn't pretending to know anything. It was just asking questions that we ask ourselves, what happens to love, why does it go away?
"We spend our whole lives looking for it and we find, and once you move in together, you've got to share the same bathroom, it goes away."
Meanwhile, Gosling is potentially gearing up for a role in one of the biggest franchises in the world and the actor is reportedly in talks to star in a Star Wars project helmed by Shawn Levy.
Gosling is being eyed up for the lead role in the mystery project written by Jonathan Tropper, which is set to be a standalone story.
Blue Valentine is available to stream now in the UK on Amazon Prime Video.
